LandPaths and Ag + Open Space invite you to visit Saddle Mountain Open Space Preserve. Once at risk of development, the now 960-acre preserve of oak woodlands, mixed forests, and open grasslands are protected forever by Ag+Open Space. This property contains a quarter of the Mark West watershed, and has been identified as one of the most important habitats to protect in our region. Mark West Creek is home to both Coho salmon and Steelhead trout, and serves as a wildlife corridor for terrestrial and aquatic species. Along our hike, we’ll hear from Friends of the Mark West Watershed, a community of neighbors, landowners and supporters working to protect restore and sustain the Upper Mark West Watershed in Sonoma County.
