A family event geared towards Moms, Dads and kids of all ages
Childcare provided for kids ages 6 and up.
Kids younger than six must have a caregiver (other than mom) to stay with them as Moms take a precious, two hour hike to rejuvenate, restore, and commune with nature and each other.
This outing is geared toward Mom, offering her the opportunity to spend the morning in nature at the beautiful Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation & Open Space District-protected Rancho Mark West property, getting some exercise, in the company and camaraderie of other Moms.
Children, Dads, other family members and caregivers of all ages are invited to join us in outdoor activities in and around the barn and garden area and/or redwood grove, while Moms separate for two hours to hike the property. Families will engage in nature exploration, games, and work to create an offering for mom upon her return. Childcare will be provided for kids six and up. If children are under six years old, it is essential that a caregiver other than mom is present with them at all times, as moms walk the land. Even if your child is six or older, if you sense that s/he will be uncomfortable without you near, please invite a caregiver to stay them.
Families will reunite at 12:30 near the historic barn for lunch. Let’s make it a potluck! Please bring a simple offering to share with the group. Suggestions for what to bring: bread, cheese, veggies and dip, bagels & cream cheese, fruit, smoked fish, etc.
Level of difficulty: easy to moderately strenuous depending on whether you choose to hike or not.
