Please join us on this 5-mile round-trip, flat roll along the Santa Rosa Creek Regional Park Trail. This trip is geared towards folks in wheelchairs and their families and caregivers. You can register for this FREE event here.

Please join the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District for a roll along Santa Rosa Creek. This outing is specifically geared towards folks in wheelchairs and their families/caregivers. Children are welcome. We will pass through picturesque farmland with expansive views of Mt. St. Helena and will remain alongside Santa Rosa Creek for the entire outing – offering a fantastic opportunity for wildlife viewing, especially birds! This outing will be led by LandPaths Outings Advisory Team (OAT) member Stan Gow. We will be joined by numerous plant and wildlife experts.

We will pick up the Santa Rosa Creek Regional Park Trail at A Place to Play (see details below) and end our outing 2.5 miles later at Willowside Rd, where we will stop for lunch. This five mile roundtrip stretch of the trail is almost completely flat, and 95% paved. There is a very short stretch of trail at the beginning and end of our roll that is packed, smooth dirt. There is one underpass where we must roll down (then up on the return trip) to cross under Fulton Road. At this crossing, we will be traveling on a sidewalk on Fulton Road for approximately .01 mile, and then cross under on the pedestrian trail.

Location, Directions, and Time:

  • We will meet at 10am on Saturday, May 14th.  We should be back to A Place to Play by 2pm.
  • A Place to Play is located at 2375 West 3rd Street. There is a large parking lot. We will meet near the children’s play structure.

Details:

  • CityBus #6 stops at A Place to Play. Paratransit will also stop at A Place to Play.
  • There is a public restroom at A Place to Play at the far Eastern corner of the parking lot.
  • There will be a portable restroom placed at Willowside Rd for the purpose of this outing.
  • This outing is geared specifically towards folks in wheelchairs.
  • Family members, caregivers and children are welcome.
  • Friendly dogs on leash are welcome.

The Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation & Open Space District protects land in Sonoma County and LandPaths connects you with that land. This program is made possible through a partnership between the District and LandPaths. It is sponsored by the voters of Sonoma County who funded the District’s work with a quarter-cent sales tax, and is coordinated & guided by LandPaths. This outing will take place on trails owned and maintained by Sonoma County Regional Parks and the Sonoma County Water Agency, passing through open space that has been protected by the District.

We look forward to seeing you!
