Get ready for a day of fungi fun at Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation & Open Space District-protected Saddle Mountain! Ever wonder how a mushroom seems to magically pop out of the soil? Or how many different colors of fungi there are? Or why some mushrooms are shaped liked toadstools but others are weird slimy blobs? If yes, than this kid focused adventure is for you. We will learn about the important role of mushrooms in our ecosystem as we try to find as many different and strange fungi as possible.
Level of hike difficulty: moderately strenuous hike – up to 4 miles roundtrip.
