Come explore the tracks and signs of Sonoma County’s wild pig population. We’ll hike through the beautiful hills of the Riddell Preserve, protected forever by Sonoma County Ag + Open Space. As we learn to read the story the pigs leave on the landscape, we will discuss the role of these animals in our ecology. We will ponder questions regarding their challenges, benefits, and cultural significance. During our time together we will learn more about the feral pigs’ fascinating life cycles, their familial bonding, and outrageous intelligence. Our goal is to leave the class with a better understanding of feral pigs and our relationship with them.
Level of Difficulty: Moderate with steep sections
Leaders: LandPaths staff and Dave Barry
