Join us to learn about the important Native American cultural uses of the Dogbane plant as we explore and steward the Dogbane Preserve, protected by your Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation & Open Space District.  We will begin our time together with a demonstration of how to make cord from the Dogbane plant as Native Americans in California have done for centuries.

The Dogbane Preserve was in the path of the Tubbs fire, but with your help we are hopeful that the dogbane plant will continue to thrive. Our tasks for the day include digging out Harding grass, sheet mulching, removing blackberry sprout, pruning limbs/coyote brush, and general tending of the dogbane.
