Join us to learn about the important Native American cultural uses of the Dogbane plant as we explore and steward the Dogbane Preserve, protected by Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District. We will begin our time together with a demonstration of how to make cord from the Dogbane plant as Native Americans in California have done for centuries. Learn why this botanical resource is worthy of protection. We will also learn how to harvest the plant and will remove the invasive blackberries so that the dogbane can thrive.
