Come hike and tour Camp Liahona Redwoods, a 440 acre District-protected property owned and operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Each Tour is conducted by a knowledgeable guide, lasts 2 to 3 hours, and covers about two miles of trails. The camp’s 440 acres are located in the narrow valleys of the Wheatfield Fork of the Gualala River so most of our trails have sections that are steep. If the trails are newly wet, they can be slippery, especially in these steeper areas. For this reason we recommend that tours be attended only by experienced hikers age 10 and up who have good balance and quick reflexes.
You are advised to wear sturdy boots, long sleeves and long pants, for poison oak and tick protection, and a hat and sun screen. Also, please bring adequate water and food for your party, as these will not be provided. A restroom will be available at the starting location and no pets are allowed.
All hikes start promptly at 10:00 AM on the porch of Legacy Lodge, the two-story building closest to Skaggs Springs Rd. All hiking tours are free, but group size is limited and reservations are required. As a courtesy to volunteer tour guides, reservations must be made by 5:00 p.m. on the Thursday before the scheduled tour. Reservations can be made by calling the scheduler at 707-886-1822. If the scheduler is unavailable, please leave a message which includes the following information and someone will contact you to confirm your reservation:
•Name
•Phone number
•Email address (or mailing address)
•Number of people in your group
•The date of the tour you are interested in
Inclement weather will cancel the tour. Information regarding the current status of the tour will be available from the Scheduler (707-886-1822) by 5:00 PM of the Friday before each tour.
