City and District Dedicate Prince Gateway Park

On August 1, 2008, the City of Santa Rosa and the community will dedicate and celebrate the completion of the Prince Gateway Park, a partnership with the Open Space District to enhance public access to Santa Rosa Creek. In 2001, the District contributed $4 million from the voter-approved sales tax toward the restoration and development of the Prince Memorial Greenway. In 2005, the District and the City completed the long-awaited acquisition of the Boyett property, using $450,000 of sales tax.

The Prince Gateway Park and Prince Memorial Greenway provide Sonoma County residents with opportunities for recreation close to home where walkers, runners and cyclists can enjoy using the Santa Rosa Creek trail, a popular urban pathway running 11 miles from downtown Santa Rosa to the Laguna de Santa Rosa.
